Tommy Cross netted the winner with 2.8 to go.

One of the best hockey games I have ever seen, no doubt. The Eagles edged Northeastern on a Tommy Cross PP goal with 2.8 second to play in the third period, another heart stopper but in the end, it's a win and BU lost again. Since the score was close, you may think BC didn't play it's best, not the case at all. BC was very good tonight, getting thirty six shots on NU goalie Chris Rawlings (who had a great game) but weren't able to capitalize on a lot of them. NU's defensive play was great all night, they limited the Eagles chances in front of the net, but big mistakes on both BC goals cost NU big time. On the NU goal, NU did a good job of getting it deep, getting the puck to the net, and getting a rebound to make it 1-0 Dogs. The game remained scoreless until the middle of second period when an NU defenseman just flipped the puck up in the air, Chris Kreider caught it, skated in, slid it over to Kevin Hayes and just like that we were tied. A bad interference penalty on Luke Eblier with a minute left was killer for the Huskies who were carrying the play in the final couple of minutes of the third. On the game-winner, the Eagles set it up great by getting the puck to Cross who fired a shot from the point to beat Rawlings. Great Win, but we know whats next. Terriers.
Why BC won
1. The penalty kill. The Huskies were 0/4 on the PP in large part to great killing by the PK Unit.
2. Parker Milner is doing what the team needs him to do. NU managed just eighteen shots, but Parker Milner made some big stops down the stretch to keep the game tied.
3. The Kevin Hayes-Chris Kreider-Bill Arnold line was great, Kevin Hayes had his game of the year in my opinion, as this line was on the ice for both BC goals. Lots of good offensive chances created by this line.
4. The power play. I know the stats won't show it, but when we need it, the Power Play has come up huge. I think the unit of Hayes-Arnold-Kreider-Cross, with Dumoulin and Cross has been improving dramatically as the season has progressed.
Problems
1. Faceoffs. Not sure what the number are, but the faceoffs were a real problem tonight, especially in the offensive zone.
Player of the game- Tommy Cross. Scores the winning goal with just two second left, who else could it be ?
Next up- Sunday 4 O'Clock. Im not even going to say it. You should know.
BU losses again- Merrimack came back to beat BU, the Terriers were 1/9 on the PP. Great Going Terriers !
