Defenseman Jesper Mattila committed to Boston College last week, giving the Eagles their fourth blue liner in the 2016 freshman class. The Finland product has recorded 16 points in 28 games for the Ilves U20 team and also participated in Finland's World Jr Camp this year- he is projected to be a 5th or 6th rounder in the 2016 NHL draft.
I have not seen Mattila play but those who have call him an "effective, puck moving defenseman that is a strong skater." It seems to be another quality get for BC but as I have said many times, next season's outlook will depend on who stays and who goes.
