Weekend in review, looking ahead and some more bad news

First the bad news. Freshman forward Danny Linell will be out indefinitely with a separated shoulder suffered in the first shift of Friday's game vs Maine.

The one word to describe this weekend would be inconsistent. The Eagles had their best game of the campaign on Friday, dominating Tim Whithead's Black Bears 5-1 at Conte Forum. BC was all over the Black Bears, and I was convinced after that game that this team would not be stopped in Hockey East. Then it happend. I honestly don't really know what happend on Saturday night, but UMass found a way to shut down the Eagles. Their forcheck was great and their team defense against the best offense in the country was outstanding. BC's biggest issues in my opinion was their defensive play and not creating grade A chances. Both these have a lot to do with UMass' great play but the Eagles could have done a little better on both ends. Parker Milner continued to do his job this weekend, allowing just four goals combined in the two games, but the defense in front of him was just not there. With a big weekend coming up, expect this team to be a little more sharp on both ends.

Looking ahead, this is a big weekend. These are BC's last two leagues games until the week after Thanksgiving which means getting four points this weekend would be HUGE. But really, BC obviously wants the points but I believe more then anything they just want to kick the crap out of their two biggest rivals. BU and NU have been really struggling as of late and both would like nothing then to beat their BC @ Conte. I know BC will be ready for both games because vs these opponents, under Coach York, BC is always ready. The only thing that concerns me is what BC team will we see ? will we see the team that killed UNH, North Dakota, and Maine or will we see the team that got badly outshot by Lowell and lost to UMass... time will tell. For now,

 GO EAGLES
