The staff picked up their first 1999 recruit today when forward Jacob Tortota committed to the Eagles for the fall of 2018. The 5'6 is a native of Rochester, New York and recorded 7 points for the black team up at U15 festival early in the summer. Obviously, the kid will grew a couple more inches before he gets to the Heights but all in all, it seems like the staff picked up another small but highly skilled forward, something that we don't have much of in any of the upcoming classes (skill part yes, small part, no).
I have never seen the kid play so I'm not going to pretend I know what I am talking about but according to the guys that have seen him play, it's a substantial get for the staff as they continue the never ending recruiting war vs Boston University.
Here is some reaction-
Over the Boards had him ranked in their top 150-
From Sean Lafortune, the head scout for TheScout.ca and OHL regional scout for McKeen's Hockey.
All in all, it seems like a very nice get for the staff. Now they just have get him to campus......four years from now !
