Senior goaltender Brian Billett has taken a leave of absence from the team, according to the club's official twitter account. The staff has since called up goaltender Alex Joyce, who's name is not listed in the club team's official roster so I am not quiet sure what the deal is there. Billett's leave is because of personal reasons and has nothing to do with any violation of team rules.
Obviously, I wish Brian the best in whatever he is dealing with. Over the course of the past few weeks, his backup role was overtaken by fellow senior Brad Barone, who performed terrifically in the exhibition game vs New Brunswick. Hopefully Brian takes care of what he needs to and returns to the team as soon as possible.
